Version 1.1.2 Available for download.
You can download 1.1.2 here
This update addresses several performance issues. This does not include the fixed columns. I expect to have that done next.
I have included a minified js of the plugin which brings it down to 4kb.
You can see a working demo here

it really excellent but i am getting a horizontal scroll in IE6…how to solve it?
It would be nice if the table created to house the header were given the same CSS class as the table it was taken from, so that the original CSS rules would apply to it. This would make it much easier to add this as a drop-in component.
Hi Mate,
I used your plugin. But I found some problems when it is being rendered on IE 6.
If I have more than 25 columns to be displayed, the tables splashes out of my containing div.
Works well on FF 3.6 and IE 8 though. Unfortunately, 60% of my clients still runs on IE6.
Any workaround on this? If you need a screenshot, I can provide it to you.
Thanks..
Hi Mate,
Keep it coming.. I used your plugin in IE and it works like a charm…
Thanks for sharing this.. =)
Can you add an example html to use this package? Can we combine this with table sort utilities?
Can we sort a date column in mm/dd/yyyy format?
Can I have a sample code combining these features?
Thanks a lot!
Can you add a example HTML usage of this package?
Mark,
Thanks for the performance update – runs really well, especially in IE – however, there are some CSS issues, and I checked the demo, and your demo is still 1.0 – can you update it so we can see a proper implementation?
Also, a message alert occurs wanting a footer ID if you have footer: true set. I tried adding a TFOOT tag set below the closing THEAD with an ID for TFOOT, but it didn’t make a difference.
I’ll take a look at this tonight and see whats going on. Then provide an update hopefully. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
